This session will be composed of thoroughgoing examinations of two or three prints in the exhibition “Worth a Thousand Words: Nineteenth-Century American Prints from the Farnsworth.”  What myths do we hold dear about mid-century America?  About Abraham Lincoln?  About gentile Southern life?  This session will demonstrate how art can lead us to deeper truths and new ways of seeing.
